Thanks to funding from Bankstown City Council we have been running workshops for young people including young people living with a disability as part of our eMOTION project. Workshops have included a mix music, movement, mime and puppetry.

eMOTION provides creative and recreational activities for young people and particularly those living with a disability in the Bankstown local government area. The project acknowledges the culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds of participants. It aims to reduce social isolation by bringing young people from a diverse range of cultures and abilities together. Sport has always played an important role in young people’s lives. However, it is not of universal interest and may socially exclude a number of young people.
eMOTION is creating an alternate opportunities for these young people to engage in physical activities and experience teamwork. eMOTION addresses some of the key issues raised by disability discussion group at Bankstown social planning meetings such as the lack of day programs for people with a disability (particularly affordable ones) and the need for access to services by people with a disability especially CALD and newly arrived.
eMOTION is a project that is accessible to all, including people of CALD
